images-8Check out this fabulous conversation with MIT psychologist Sherry Turkel. She was interviewed yesterday  on New York’s Public Radio Station WNYC.  Turkel  is one of the leading voices on the intersection of technology and human relationships, and what she has to say probably will not totally surprise you. While she is not anti-technology, she has looked deeply into how the seductive nature of our digital technology interrupts our capacity for both  aloneness and connection.  She maintains, I think correctly, that we need to be able to tolerate the tensions of being alone with our thoughts and ourselves  in order to make meaningful connections with others. She worries that we are losing this most precious human commodity.
